Not too many shots of this project.
This car was brought home around the same time
I was born, August of 76. At the time the motor was in the trunk in
need of a serious rebuild. After fixing it up and giving it a nice new
coat of gray paint, it was our family car for years. Then my sister
drove it when she was in high school. After she went off to college
it sat for a few years. I can still remember climbing in a pretending
to drive and shift it. That is probably why the linkage on this column
shift is so touchy even today.
Finally when I was in high school my father and I started rebuilding
it. I had always tinkered with cars but this was my first real rebuild
project and started my love affair with old cars. The time I spent with
my dad and other friends working on this car will never be forgotten
and is the reason I would never sell this car for any price
I promise to try to find more pics but I didn't take a lot at the time...
